Each year since 2016, law firm and National CASA/GAL partner Akerman LLP has granted a scholarship to help young adults who have spent time in foster care.

Let’s all work together to support foster parents, child welfare professionals, CASA and GAL volunteers and many others who are working now and in the future to meet the needs of children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of CASA and GAL programs. Together, state and local programs serve 271,800 children each year.

CASA/GAL program staff and volunteers are endlessly creative and are going to great lengths to find ways to stay connected with the children they serve.

In this season of social distancing, we should follow the CDC guidelines and be physically distant but remain socially close—especially to children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
